Objective
The central idea of LIVE is to create
- Novel Intelligent Content Production Methods and
- Tools for Interactive Digital Broadcasters
to stage Live Media Events such as the 2008 Olympic Games.
'Staging live media events' means for the professional user creating a non-linear multi-stream video show in real-time, which changes due to the interests of the consumer (end user). To allow for that an Intelligent Media Framework has to be set up. Hence we scientifically research ways to transform videos into Intelligent Media Objects. Technically we develop a knowledge kit and a toolkit for an intelligent live content production process including dynamic human annotation and automated real-time annotation.
As a consequence novel iTV video formats for live events will evolve. In LIVE we try to find scientific answers to the key question: How can we make a video become an intelligent multimedia object matching the needs of the interested consumer? The arising technical question is: What kind of tools allow for the creation of content (including the commercial video and advertisement) that finds an interested consumer by itself.
