Objective
The aim of the proposal is to scientifically and professionally reintegrate the Returning Scientist to Poland. In this process the expertise available at the Institute of System Studies of Polish Academy of Sciences will be combined with that of the Returning Scientist in a project aiming at designing and implementing a complete experimental agent based e-commerce platform. This platform and its development and implementation process will be utilized as a feasibility study of agent-based computing. The completed platform will be made available for experimental work in e-commerce system studies. Proposed work will proceed in stages, with the starting point being the current skeleton system that was co-developed by the Returning Scientist and colleagues form University of Craiova and Elblag University of Economics and Humanities.
The main stages of the project are:
(1) re-implementation of the existing system to introduce a generic rule-based negotiation framework of Bartollini, Jennings and Price,
(2) extending robustness of the system by adding multiple specific price negotiation mechanisms as well as modules responsible for buyer and seller strategies and for other decision-making procedures, and
(3) introduction of semantic structures into the system.
