The EU and India are two great economic powers that could benefit from cooperation in the field of S&T, particularly if stakeholders learn about collaboration and funding possibilities. The EU-funded project Euinec developed the foundation for cooperation through the EU-India Research Coop. This initiative and accompanying portal, which helped match partners for projects and information exchange, also identified areas of collaboration and supported e-training endeavours to embark on EU projects. In addition, the project successfully organised many joint events including two large conferences with workshops and brokerage events, namely the EU India S&T Cooperation Days held in India and Europe. Other events included info days, workshops and training sessions across India, empowering stakeholders to embark on joint initiatives. A host of specific recommendations to enhance EU-India collaboration in the sector came out of the project, thanks to several roundtable discussions and networking initiatives involving related projects. In parallel, one of the project's initiatives, called EU India, unveiled all the new tools for enhancing collaboration in S&T while encouraging networking among people involved in compatible activities. Lastly, Euinec conducted 'train the trainers' sessions to ensure nationwide reach to the largest number of stakeholders possible. It established an informal network of focal point expert representatives in order to assist fellow scientists, opening the door for endless cooperation possibilities. India's vast human resources and knowledge base represents the ideal complement to EU expertise and know-how, leading to solid partnerships that will be of benefit to both Asia and Europe.
