The Commission of the European Communities, Joint Research Centre, invites applications for inclusion in a restricted call for tenders for the provision of a completely automated system for the identification of bacteria, mycetes and yeasts.

A simple and fast system is required, which reduces operator handling of samples to a minimum and allows the identification of the widest possible range of microbial species. It must also allow the carrying out of any antibiograms, such as the determination of MIC on bacterial stocks isolated from various matrices. The system should also be utilizable in liquid sterility checks, by evaluation of their total bacterial content.
