Scientific evaluation of support mechanisms for zoonosis in the Member States
The European Commission, DG V, has published an invitation to tender concerning the scientific evaluation of support mechanisms for zoonosis in the Member States. The Commission aims to obtain a description and analysis of the management of zoonosis in the Member States. This evaluation must cover the following fields: - A detailed description of zoonosis surveillance and control procedures in each Member State; - An inventory of methods of zoonosis surveillance by means of a pathogenic agent; - A summary proposing a reference framework for an improved approach towards zoonoses at EU level. The Commission expects that the study will be completed by way of a 12-month contract, commencing in the fourth quarter of 1998.
