Expert advice for EU trade policy with Japan
The European Commission, DG I, has published an invitation to tender for the provision of expert advice to assist the Commission in its trade policy with Japan, particularly with regard to measures which impact on European business. This is regarded as a key element to the success of the EU-Japanese relationship. The Commission requires information, advice and counselling, in order to promote successfully its goals and objectives in dealing with the Japanese authorities. Areas of particular interest include market access and regulatory issues, with a view to facilitating the expansion of EU business in Japan. Feedback from European companies on factors impacting on business between the EU and Japan is also of interest as well as the Commission export promotion programmes concerning Japan. Support is required on an ongoing basis in a number of key areas: - Matters related to specific market access issues, including issues of a technical nature; - Matters related to deregulation in Japan; - Matters related to the Commission's export promotion programme to Japan (EXPROM), comprising the "Executive training programme in Japan" (ETP), the "EU Gateway to Japan" export promotion campaign and ad-hoc, one-off projects; - Matters related to foreign investment in Japan; - Matters related to distribution in Japan. The contract will last for a 12-month period, two further renewals of the contract may be offered for a further period of 12 months each.
