The European Commission, DG XI, has published an invitation to tender concerning an evaluation in the fields of accidental marine pollution and civil protection. The two main objectives for the evaluation are: verifying the rationality of the objectives of the contract; and adjusting initiatives in accordance with future changes (taking account of new dimensions such as the prevention of catastrophes, Union enlargement, use of new technologies). Therefore, an ex-post, interim and ex-ante evaluation will be required for the two fields concerned, where activities have been carried out for over 10 years. The specific tasks to be accomplished are described in the reference terms of the invitation to tender documents. The final report of the mission should be completed within eight weeks. Tender documents may be obtained from: European Commission, DG XI - Environment, nuclear safety and civil protection Mr. B. Sinnott 200 rue de la Loi (BU-5 0/141) B-1049 Brussels
