The Commission of the European Communities, Directorate-General XIII/B-1 issues a call for tenders under the title "IMPACT II projects for the development of the European Information Market", concerning the training of trainers in the less favoured regions. In line with the detailed workprogramme for 1992 of the IMPACT II programme for the establishment of an information services market, the Commission will encourage the creation of an infrastructure for training. As a kick-off initiative tenders are invited for the training of trainers in the Less Favoured Regions (LFRs) of the European Communities (Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Spain). This initiative aims to create a network of skilled trainers in the LFRs who, in the next phase of the programme, can train intermediaries in how to use information services in general and electronic information services in particular, and how to successfully incorporate use of electronic information services into the traditional means of information provision within companies. A contractor is sought to assist the Commission and the LFRs in developing and conducting 10 training courses in the LFRs, typically of 2-3 weeks duration, and in developing and delivering a lecturer's manual that can be used by the (then trained) participants for training of intermediaries. Course participants would come from organizations with natural links to SMEs (Chambers of Commerce, European Information Centres, business associations, etc). The courses should be conducted in the participants own language (English, Greek, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish). The Commission will consider only those tenders covering all five LFRs. Specifications for the submission of tenders may be obtained on request, in writing or by fax, from: Commission of the European Communities Directorate-General XIII/B-1 Attn. Mr. D. Deberghes Jean Monnet Building (B4/018A) L-2920 Luxembourg Fax +352-43012847
