Kick off Meeting “RFID Transponder Platform”
A offspring group of 6 young scientists will work on transponder solutions in the frequency range from 125 kHz up to 2.45 GHz during the next 5 years. The main focus of the research are the high frequency transponder solutions. The Kick off meeting took place at the 20th of July 2006, at the Fraunhofer IPMS in Dresden/Germany under the direction of Prof. Wolf-Joachim Fischer. The scientists cooperate closely with regional enterprises. The companies KSW microtec AG, ASEM GmbH and RHe Microsystems GmbH will take a special interest in the project. The aim of the project is to create a RFID transponder platform as a basis for the further development of customer specific solutions for the regional companies and to bring the new products to market in a short time. The work of the off spring group is supported by the BMBF within the initiative “Unternehmen Region” of the program “Inno Profile” Fraunhofer IPMS: Fraunhofer IPMS carries out customer specific developments in the field of microelectronic and microsystem technology in Dresden. The aim is to act as a business partner in helping to transfer innovative ideas into new products. About 180 scientists work with modern equipment to provide customer specific solutions in the field of circuit design, sensors and sensor systems, micromechanical actuators and actuator systems, lightmodulating microsystems, image processing and image transmission and organic electronics.
