The European Commission, DG XVI, has published a restricted invitation to tender to enlist the assistance of an international organization for the implementation of pilot projects in the field of local and regional innovative activities, relating to areas such as the Information Society, technology transfer, new job pools and culture. The selected organization will be responsible for: - Monitoring and closing the execution of 131 pilot projects and the updating of the corresponding computer files; - Drawing up reports for the Commission on the implementation of the action, and projects within the action, and their impact in relation to the objectives targeted; - Proposal of, and administrative management of experts appointed by the Commission to assist in the monitoring, technical assistance and evaluation of the projects; - Organizational and communications activities, particularly the organization of seminars. From the applications submitted, the Commission intends to send invitations to tender to between five and ten applicants, before 20 July 1998.
