The European Commission, DG XI, has published an invitation to tender concerning a study on the potential for reducing emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the vehicle-refinishing sector, by limiting the organic solvent content of coatings used in this sector. The following principal objectives will be pursued in the study: - To present a synthesis of the relevant elements characterizing the vehicle-refinishing sector; - To explore at a technical level the possibilities for limiting the organic solvent content of products used for the coating activities involved in vehicle refinishing; - To analyse the environmental and economic impact of such possibilities.
