The European Commission, DG XXIV, has published an invitation to tender for a study on methods for the identification of endocrine-disrupting chemicals. The objective of the tender is to support research efforts focused on the development of a test protocol to identify the endocrine-disrupting chemicals, the mechanism of endocrine-disrupting effects, and their impact on complex organisms (individually and on populations), in order to contribute to: - The development of a screening test and testing strategy to detect substances with endocrine-disrupting effects; - The identification of the mechanism that produces this effect in the environment in general and in specific contexts, such as in food and water.
