Extending COST to the Republics of Croatia and Slovenia
At the COST Senior Official's meeting in Stockholm on 18 June, a resolution concerning the enlargement of COST to include the Republics of Croatia and Slovenia was confirmed. The Committee welcomes the two new members and will undertake to ensure the rapid integration of the two new states. COST (European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research) comprises two types of projects: - Concerted action projects forming an integral part of a Community RTD programme, open on a multilateral basis to COST third state participation; - Concerted action projects which are not part of a Community programme, proposed either by COST states or by the Commission. Individual COST states and the Commission may participate in these projects.
