New projects sought for prevention of drug dependence programme
A new selection round for European projects aimed at preventing drug dependence has just been launched. The call for proposals, for projects to be implemented in 1999, covers both improving knowledge of drug dependence and its prevention, and education on the risks of drug dependence. The Commission aims to fund, within the EU's programme for the prevention of drug dependence, projects involving several EU Member States which can contribute to actions to reduce drug dependence in the EU. Proposals can be submitted for projects in either of the two areas covered by the programme: - A: Improving knowledge of drugs, drug dependence and its consequences, and means of preventing drug dependence and the risks attached; - B: Improving information and education aimed at preventing drug dependence and related risks, in particular targeting young people. Proposals must be submitted on the standard application form, which may be obtained from: European Commission DG V - Employment, industrial relations and social affairs Programme of Community action on the prevention of drug dependence (Unit F/2) Bâtiment Jean Monnet Plateau du Kirchberg L-2920 Luxembourg Fax +352-430134975
