With regard to the implementation of standardisation policies and measures in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT), the European Commission, DG III, is currently inviting the submission of proposals for standardisation projects for the Information Society (ISIS and SPRITE-S2). Proposals may be submitted by eligible organisations, normally involving a consortium of at least two partners from different Member States, for: - The development, application and validation of demonstration projects; - Actions in support of education, promotion of best practice and awareness building. The priorities identified in the work programme of ISIS are the following: - Electronic commerce; - Multimedia systems; - Teleworking; - Transport; - Bioinformatics. SPRITE-S2 will cover the following: - Telecoms systems and services; - Business services in support of electronic commerce; - Improved business processes; - Services to the citizen; - Topical procurement issues; - Education, promotion and awareness building.
