The European Commission, DG XXIII, has published an invitation to tender relating to the study and analysis in Europe of the management training aimed at SME directors, especially in the context of the potential application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The study will aim to: - Identify and evaluate the requirements of SME directors in terms of management training with a representative sample at a European level; - Identify at regional, national, European and international levels, the best techniques and products existing within universities, institutes of higher education and vocational training schools in the field of management training techniques aimed at SME directors; - Make concrete recommendations to the Commission, especially on actions to be undertaken at a Community level in this field; - Identify the capacity of SME directors to make use of ICT, to develop and improve their professional management skills; - Identify, in Europe and the US, the best practices in this field which use or could use information and communication technologies, especially within the framework of continuing vocational training for company directors.
