Researcher identifies the parasites responsible for Chagas and Leishmaniasis epidemics

Both diseases have already been recognised by the WHO as a public health problem. They affect around 30 million people throughout the world, particularly in South America. Although no specific medicines have been developed yet, this study conducted by the University of Granada will be an important step towards the discovery of a treatment.
