Within the framework of the implementation of international conventions and programmes for the protection of the marine and river environment in Central and Eastern European countries and the New Independent States of the former Soviet Union, the European Commission, DG XI, is currently seeking support from a team of scientific and technical experts.

The services sought would cover the following:

- Scientific and technical assistance in order to advise on policy implications;
- Contributions to the preparation and follow-up of files related to the Commission's participation in working groups and to assist at these meetings;
- Participation in the preparation, at scientific level, of various projects required for relevant actions.
