Following the entry into force of the Amsterdam Treaty, the European Commission will be required to produce an annual report on the evolution of the social situation in the EU (on the basis of Article 143 of the consolidated version of the EC Treaty). This report will be supported by a series of socio-economic analyses touching on various fields of social policy and enabling, in addition, the principal factors of change as well as the ensuing main trends to be understood in overall terms. Therefore, the Commission is seeking a contractor to undertake the following tasks: - The collection, processing and analysis of quantitative data obtained by the Commission, including the use of multivariable analysis, case simulations, modelling, cartographic and graphic representation; - The collection and analysis of additional quantitative data; - The integration of qualitative elements relating to phenomena brought to light while handling the data.
