Developing the Centre for Earth Observation programme
The Centre for Earth Observation (CEO) programme of the European Commission aims at increasing the use of satellite earth observation data in the frame of the implementation and monitoring of European policies and legislation. This current invitation to tender relates to the activities carried out for the design and implementation phase of the Centre of Earth Observation (CEO) programme. A data and information system of the CEO, the 'enabling services' has already been developed. The further development of the CEO 'enabling services' has been split into the following 6 packages: - Package A: development of search sub-systems (CIP and BIB-1 search servers); - Package B: development of announcement and advertising sub-systems; - Package C: development of report and monitoring sub-systems; - Package D: development of data dictionary and user profile sub-systems; - Package E: development of on-line help, help desk and newsgroup sub-systems; - Package F: integration and testing. The current invitation to tender relates to Package A on the development of search sub-systems to CIP search release B.
