ESC Opinion: European Drugs Monitoring Centre and REITOX Information Network
At its 297th Plenary Session (26.5.1992) the Economic and Social Committee adopted an Opinion on the proposal for a Council Regulation (EEC) on the establishment of a European Drugs Monitoring Centre and a European Information Network on Drugs and Drug Addiction (REITOX). The Committee endorses the proposal (COM(91) 463 of 3.12.1991) noting that drug dependency in its various forms is a matter for the utmost concern, not only in terms of health problems, but also involving serious social and economic consequences.
