The Space Applications Institute of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre has published an invitation to tender relating to publications and promotions and the provision of study work within the field of market development for earth observation products. This relates to the promotion of the Centre for Earth Observation programme (CEO) and will be conducted between 1 December 1998 and 30 November 1999.

The work will involve three tasks relating to the promotion of the CEO programme:

- To revise the promotional strategy of the CEO programme towards the new work programme and the general aims of the Fifth Framework Programme;
- To execute the promotional strategy during 1999, involving a range of public relations and communications activities for the CEO programme itself. The work will also require a review of the development of the market for earth observation products and services in Europe;
- To produce a strategy to promote earth observation products to potential new markets and customers.
