Results of Transport calls for proposals
A total of 24 proposals have been recommended for around ECU 12.5 million in funding as a result of the fourth call for proposals under the EU's specific RTD programme in the field of Transport. In addition, 15 proposals from the 66 received have been selected from the joint call for proposals on transport intermodality, issued by DG VII and DG XIII, and will receive total funding of ECU 12 milion. Both of these calls were published on 16 December 1997 (OJ No C 381 of 16.12.1997 p. 22 and p. 27 respectively). A total of 100 proposals were received in response to the call for Transport programme projects, requesting a total of ECU 57 million infunding. The breakdown by area of the 24 projects selected is as follows: - Area 4: Air transport (3); - Area 7: Road transport (1); - Area 9: Actions to consolidate results (4); - Area 11: Policy-oriented RTD actions and studies (7); - Area 12: Tasks to prepare future transport RTD activities (9). The estimated starting date for the selected projects is November 1998.
