The European Commission, DG III, has published an invitation to tender for a study on the automation and integration of production processes in ship building. The purpose of the study is to provide an overview of the technology of production processes used in ship building, in particular in relation to their automation and integration, in view of a competitive and sustainable European ship building industry. This will cover all aspects of ship building related to the conception, design, fabrication and assembly of all kinds of ships, including offshore hydrocarbon production facilities. The contract will last for a period of twelve months.
