Analysing heavy metals in aerosol particulate matter
The European Commission, DG XI, has published an invitation to tender for a study to cover the investigation and subsequent preparation of certified reference material for the analysis of heavy metals in aerosol particulate matter on filter. The contractors will investigate suitable materials and will subsequently prepare homogeneous deposits of real aerosol particulate matter on membrane filter, and certify them for their heavy metal composition. The certified reference material will be needed in support of further research on the composition of particulate matter with a view to reviewing the proposed directive setting air quality limit values for particulate material and number of other pollutants in 2003 and in support of planned directives setting air-quality limit values for heavy metals. The contract will run for a period of twelve months.
