In order to identify ways of supporting European entrepreneurs with the internationalisation of their business strategies, the European Commission, DG XXIII, has published an invitation to tender for a study. This study will have the following specific objectives: - To analyse the motivation for, and the circumstances under which, European entrepreneurs seek to internationalise their business strategies; - To identify and analyse the problems encountered by entrepreneurs trying to internationalise their activities and identify ways to overcome these problems; - To specify the operational needs felt by entrepreneurs that could be met by appropriate public policy initiatives and support actions; - To define an analytical framework for European level public policy options that would facilitate the internationalisation of European SMEs; - To make recommendations regarding specific and appropriate practical measures that respond to these needs. Tender documents may be obtained from: European Commission DG XXIII - Enterprise policy, distributive trades and tourism Unit A.4 200 rue de la Loi (AN80 6/40) B-1049 Brussels Fax +32-2-2962904 E-mail: international@dg23.cec.be
