Expert assistance for environmental impact and strategic environmental assessment
The European Commission, DG XI, is currently seeking the assistance of an expert in the fields of environmental impact assessment (EIA) and strategic environmental assessment (SEA). The expert will assist the Commission in a number of tasks which will include the following: - Formulating views on certain documents in the field of EIA and SEA for which the input of the Commission is requested; - Investigating certain technical and procedural issues such as parliamentary questions, petitions, complaints and infractions in relation to EIA; - Verifying documentation provided for the Commission by Member States for compliance with the legal requirements of the EIA Directive as amended, the proposal for the SEA Directive and the Commission's policy in the field of EIA and SEA; - Drawing up texts and statements on EIA and SEA in answer to requests and in relation to other information from Member States.
