A study to determine the best management route for the reactor primary systems during dismantling operations of the two sarcophagi at the nuclear submarine training facility in Paldiski, Estonia, is currently being tendered by the European Commission, DG XI. The best management route should based on economic and radiological criteria and the study should identify when dismantling operations should be carried out and at what cost. The contract will run for a period of 18 months.
