The new Western Balkan Research Directory

The Western Balkan Research Directory (http://www.westbalkanresearch.net) is a database of universities, institutions and companies active in R&D in West Balkan Countries (WBCs), i.e. Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.

The Database is an interactive, online tool for academic institutions, research centres and companies active in Research and Development in West Balkan Countries (WBCs): Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, FYR of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. It contains more than 900 R&D profiles for potential strategic partnerships and international R&D cooperation. Users of the database can perform searches by all themes of activities defined within the 7th EU-Framework Programme (FP7), by organisation type and by geographical region for fast, simple and successful identification of potential R&D partners. The database has now been modernized with a new design and advanced options for user classifications. Users can choose between “Quick Search” and “Advanced Search” options and they can insert and update their organization’s R&D profile through a friendly, easy-to-use interface. The database has been established by The Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG, within the framework of the "ERA WESTBALKAN+" project. ERA WESTBALKAN (http://www.erawestbalkanplus.net) aims at accelerating the opening up of the European Research Area to the Western Balkan Countries, through networking, twinning, and training activities between National Contact Points (NCPs) from WBCs and their NCP colleagues in Member States and Candidate Countries.
