The Commission of the European Communities makes a call for requests to participate in a restricted invitation to tender for a services contract concerning the development of a technical and economic information system in the financial field. The Community's EUROTECH CAPITAL (European Technology Capital) initiative aims to encourage private capital to finance transborder high-technology projects and to facilitate the launching of new transborder initiatives which have been partly developed by SMEs. As part of this programme, a data service has been developed using standardized files to provide information on a Europe-wide basis on new products in the field of high technology. Information may be of a technological nature, market-related or related to the structure of the sector concerned. Sources include external databases, Community and national research and development programmes, and statistics from the Statistical Office of the European Communities. In addition the files also contain expert commentaries and assessments, thereby forming a summary of the data for transmission to the managers of the financial units which make up the EUROTECH CAPITAL network. An accelerated restricted procedure is applied in this call as the Eurotech Capital service must be set up by 1 January 1993. Requests to participate must comply with a number of provisions set out in the call. Full details plus the specifications for the service involved may be obtained by mail or facsimile from: Commission of the European Communities Directorate-General for Credit and Investments, DG XVIII/A-4 Attn. Mr. Berger Wagner Building rue Alcide de Gasperi L-2920 Luxembourg Tel. +352-43016246; Fax +352-436322
