Applications Open to MY SCIENCE European Programme for Young Journalists MY SCIENCE European Programme for Young Journalists – Apply before 25 July 2009 Are you a young journalist curious and enthusiastic about innovation and science? Would you like to gain an insight into the work of scientists in a laboratory of your choice? Do you want to learn to communicate research results to the wider public? If your answer is YES – join the My SCIENCE European Programme fo MY SCIENCE is a project supporting young journalists or students of journalism in learning more about European research and giving them tools helping to communicate the results and the relevance of the research projects to the wider public. Its aim is to bridge the scientific and journalistic communities and to enhance public understanding of science in everyday life. 90 young journalists from all over Europe are offered a chance to participate at 6-day workshop at European research institutes specialised in selected fields of science. The participants will get firsthand information on lead¬ing scientific EU-funded projects, develop editorial knowledge in research related areas and learn how to communicate the outcomes of the scientific projects to the public. Moreover, they will be able to produce their own media work in science related issues and will be offered a scholarship to finance their stay.
