The European Commission's Open Information Interchange (OII) service, the objective of which is to provide all market actors with an overview of standards and industry specifications to facilitate the exchange of electronic information, have recently published a report on recent activities in the field of electronic commerce interoperability. The report covers a wide range of activities carried out in the field during October 1998, including: - The Object Management's Group and their White Paper on component technologies; - The latest release of Java Wallet from Sun Microsystems; - Introduction to the Common Business Library (CBL) by VEO Systems Inc.; - The IMPRIMATUR trial on an integrated web-based licence application system funded within the EU's ESPRIT project for Information Technologies; - The "Integration specifications release 6" report from the Open Applications Group; - Report from CEN workshop on electronic commerce awareness.
