Airborne Pathogens on Cereals
The use of host resistance genes and fungicides to control the spread of airborne pathogens throughout Europe is considered in a new report from the European Commission, DG XIII. The Directorate-General has recently published a report entitled Airborne Pathogens on Cereals on progress in the area under the cooperative COST framework. The aim of the work is to promote high crop yields in a safe way. The report describes in detail the scientific and technical results achieved under the COST cooperation by population studies of airborne pathogens on cereals and outlines areas where the activity has led to particular scientific advances.
