Cooperation agreement with Paraguay
A Council Decision of 19 October 1992 concerning the conclusion of the Framework Agreement for cooperation between the European Economic Community and the Republic of Paraguay (92/509/EEC) approves the Agreement on behalf of the Community. The text of the Framework Agreement is attached to the Decision. Inter alia, the Agreement defines RTD-related areas of cooperation including agriculture, environment, science and technology (strengthening research capabilities, developing and managing policy on science and technology, protection and improvement of the environment, efficient use of natural resources particularly forest resources, regional integration and cooperation in science and technology, disseminating information and expertise), public health, and cooperation in drug abuse control. Measures towards achieving the objectives of cooperation are to include joint research projects, training, exchanges of specialists, and information exchange. After completion of the necessary procedures, the Framework Agreement enters into force on 1 November 1992.
