CHOICE project outcomes support and strengthen collaboration between China and Europe on ICT research

The FP7-funded project CHOICE announces concrete and exciting outcomes following the achievements of its first year of activities. These major outcomes provide continuity and progress in supporting and strengthening collaboration between China and Europe on ICT research.

Those accomplishments include: • An interactive web platform providing latest info on EU-China S&T R&D cooperation in ICT • A first EU-China thematic workshop on IoT aiming at promoting EU research excellence in the field, while discussing cooperation in FIRE between EU and China and facilitating EU dialogues with MoST and MIIT • A first event showcasing EU-China ICT R&D cooperation success stories and featuring B2B networking sessions • Two webinars illustrating key features of the EC’s DAE, H2020 and future of EU-China ICT R&D cooperation • An online database providing info on relevant EU MS/AC projects to support coordination and a mapping of Chinese and EU industrial associations to reinforce industrial cooperation • An info package to assist and encourage EU researchers and organisations willing to access Chinese programs • A handbook for EU based ICT firms presenting support mechanisms and structures in China to support the development of national regulations and standards for emerging ICT technologies • A preliminary roadmap for a sustainable strategy for EU-China research cooperation beyond FP7 • An "Ask an expert" online service for English and Chinese researchers in the ICT field looking for support and guidance in the development of joint research projects • A virtual community of stakeholders supporting research and dialogue on ICT on LinkedIn, Twitter and Weibo CHOICE 2014 accomplishments pave way towards promising 2015 outcomes. The CHOICE consortium continues to focus on its mission to strengthen Chinese Collaboration on ICT research with Europe. During the second year of its implementation, the project will further: • Identify and follow-up on common ICT R&D priorities and future cooperation opportunities • Investigate the obstacles to reciprocity and encourage a more balanced relationship with China in collaborative ICT R&D • Highlight and showcase EU and Chinese excellence in ICT R&D For more information visit the CHOICE project website: www.euchina-ict.eu or contact info@euchina-ict.eu.
