Call for expressions of interest in Partenariat events
The European Commission has published a call for expressions of interest from small and medium-sized business enterprises (SMEs) to participate in Partenariat events to be held in Mexico, India and the USA. The events will be held in order to help European SMEs gain access to markets in Central America, Mexico, India and the United States. All three events follow the formula based on the Europartenariat programme, as applied by the European Union itself. This consists of a two-day event, where companies from the European Union can have a series of meetings with SMEs from the involved countries. The first event, "Al-Partenariat '99 European Union, Mexico, Central America", will take place on 24-26 February 1999 in Mexico City. This conference will deal with issues like environmental technologies, health care and telecommunications. The second event, "EU-India Partenariat '99", will be held in New Delhi on 15-16 March 1999. Participating firms will be active in the sectors like chemicals and plastics, environmental technology and software. The last event, "EU-US Partenariat", will take place in Dallas, Texas on 14-16 April 1999, when the focus will be on electronic commerce, multimedia and related sectors. For all three events, SMEs from the European Union are invited to attend if they active in the relevant sectors.
