Report on strength and ductility relationships in ultra high strength sheet steels
The European Commission, Directorate General XII, has recently published a report entitled "Strength/ductility relationships in ultra high strength sheet steels in the range 800 to 1400 MPa". This report is one of a series of ten new publications focusing on properties and in-service performance in the field of technical steel research. "Strength/ductility relationships in ultra high strength sheet steels in the range 800 to 1400 MPa" covers the research undertaken on a project aimed to design continuously annealed sheet steels processing tensile strengths in the range of 800 to 1400 MPa. The research investigated ways to meet future requirements of the automotive industry, particularly in respects to applications aimed at increasing passenger safety or for weight reduction.
