Linglink website becomes HLTCentral
The old Linglink website is now HLTCentral, which stands for Human Language Technologies. This change is a step in marking the new Information Society Technologies Programme of the Fifth Framework Programme. Under this programme the old Language Engineering Sector of the Telematics Applications Programme has been rebranded as Human Language Technologies (HLT). The European Commission DG XIII, responsible for Telecommunications, Markets, Technologies - Innovation and Exploitation of Research, stands behind the HLTCentral website and its change. It has been established to work as a springboard for access to Language Technology resources on the Web. The site endeavours to provide as many documents as possible in all 11 official working languages of the European Union. Although many pages are currently in English, most sections hold material in many different EU languages
