Supplementary device for measuring the effectiveness of advertising boards

Successful project execution in order to solve a long-standing and urgent issue in the advertising industry.

Billboard advertising is the largest segment of the outdoor advertising market. Unlike online marketing where the advertiser or surface owners can get feedback about the effectiveness of campaigns using tools like Google analyst, for the outdoor media there is no available tool that is reliable, affordable and accepted by the media industry. It has been a problem for years; the only means to measure the effectiveness of media surfaces were simple surveys. An international consortium was formed to solve this problem, and hence the ADMOS project was born. ADMOS brings the future and turns your dream into reality by offering a real-time monitoring system for any media surface. A compact monitoring device is being developed, which gives instant feedback on the people who pass by and notice the advertisements and even classifies them by gender and age. Moreover, thanks to a second board camera the system monitors the media display 24/7 allowing the owners to check the displayed creative content anytime. The key innovation of the ADMOS system is definitely the complex image processing algorithm using an optional crowd camera which analyses the images in real-time, avoiding the storage of private data. That means you do not need to fear of stealing your personal data since the captured images are erased instantly and only anonymized statistical data are stored. The core part is supported by cutting edge embedded system with a server module and user-friendly interface. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under Grant Agreement no 315525. The execution took place with the coordination of ATEKNEA Solutions Hungary Kft. and the participation of the following partners: Rubin Information Technology Inc.; Felxible Optical BV; IMPACTMEDIA, S.A.; X-TREME HOLDING BV; Central European Research Center Ltd.; Sheffield Hallam University.
