In the framework of the Trans-European Telecommunication Networks (TEN-Telecom) programme, the European Commission, DG XIII, has published a pre-announcement on a call for proposals related to generic services and applications. The project proposals should demonstrate the commitment of the organisation or consortia to ultimately deploy the applications or services in a real market environment. They should include, as necessary, a feasibility study phase or a market-deployment phase, as defined in the information package. Projects for this call for proposals will include: - Trans-European telecommunications (TEN-Telecom) generic services; - TEN-Telecom networks for education and training; - TEN-Telecom networks for access to Europe's cultural heritage; - TEN-Telecom applications and services for small and medium size enterprises; - TEN-Telecom networks for transport and mobility; - TEN-Telecom networks for the environment and emergency management; - TEN-Telecom networks for health; - TEN city and regional information networks (as the combination of previous projects). The indicative Community budget allocated for these projects are 14 million euro. An information day on this call will take place in Brussels on 16 March 1999.
