IST programme fits into FP5
The thematic programme "Information Society Technologies" (IST) fits into the overall approach to project funding of the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration (RTD), according to an Electronic Publishing paper. It sets out the position that interactive publishing will take under FP5 as a whole. The paper gives details of the third Key Action of the IST Programme - "Multimedia Content and Tools" - explaining the context of two concepts central to its objectives: "Authoring and Design Systems"; and, "Content Management and Personalisation". The paper also explains how FP5 will build on priorities identified from research carried out under the Information Engineering sector programme of FP4.
