Information on the publication of funding opportunities for 'ad hoc' proposals is now available on the European Commission, Directorate General XI's, website. DG XI is planning to assist about 50 projects in 1999, allocating an indicative total of 2 million euro to proposals which cover any of the subjects of the Fifth environmental action plan. Spontaneous proposals may be submitted to DG XI at any time during the year independently of on-going calls for proposals. Co-financing grants may also be given for 'ad hoc' proposals, if retained for funding, The information given on DG XI's website covers the following areas: - Submission of 'ad hoc' proposal (general objectives, evaluation criteria and submission procedure); - General information (general terms and conditions, and model agreement); - How to apply (including a standard application form).
