Workshop aimed to clean up transport
The European Commission has published the proceedings of an international workshop on "alternative fuels and clean bus technologies in urban transport'', which aimed to provide a forum for discussion and dissemination of results and the progress of research and demonstration projects. The publication includes reports of discussions from the workshop on proceedings in the areas of trans-European consortia, national activities and urban demonstration projects. The papers presented at the conference are also listed in the order they appeared at the event, relating to the type of alternative fuel each project demonstrates. There is also an outline of suggestions made at the close of the conference for further development strategies in this area. The workshop was organised through the EC programme for cooperation in the field of scientific and technical research (COST-CITAIR) actions 616 (mobile sources of air pollution areas) and COST 319 (estimation of pollution emission from transport). It was supported by the University of Limerick and hosted by CNR-Instituto Motori of Naples, Italy.
