EU funded project MAITRE online platform: connecting food researchers and scientific journalists
MAITRE online platform is a complete database, with the contacts and work related details of high-level researchers and journalists from the European Union and Associated Countries, working in food and nutrition science. This online tool allows researchers and journalists to establish contact with the selected researcher/ journalist, start a working relationship and expand its active network of contacts. In this way, MAITRE gives the opportunity to food researchers to easily interact with selected journalists and to open discussion and dialogue and vice versa. Any researcher or journalist from the European Union and Associated Countries who work in food and nutrition science can register any time and be part of the online database at www.maitreproject.eu. Starting from September 2011, MAITRE has already run several media seminars in different European countries, where senior journalists and media experts trained a target group of researchers from organisations involved in food science. In 2012 MAITRE is moving on with more other seminars: the ISPA CNR Institute of Food and Safe Production 13th & 14th February in Bari, Italy, the TUBITAK-MAM Research Centre 21st & 22nd March in Gebze, Kocaeli, Turkey and the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research (PAN) 27th & 28th March in Olsztyn, Poland are the high-qualified research centres that are hosting MAITRE media training seminars in the first quarter of 2012.
