Council approves FP5 agreement between EU and Israel
The European Council of Ministers has approved the participation of Israel as an associated member in the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration (RTD). The Decision was taken during a Council meeting on 22 February 1999. The agreement allows Israel to participate in all FP5 programmes under the same conditions as those set for Member States. However, the Euratom fusion and nuclear safety programmes are excluded from the agreement. The formal signature between the parties will take place on the 3 March 1999 in Brussels.
