The NO FEAR project and standardisation in Emergency Medical Services

Involved in European Emergency Medical Services and Standardisation? If so, then we would like to hear from you. Initial contact to: security@tfcengage.com and we will follow up.

TFC Research and Innovation Limited (www.tfcengage.com twitter: @TFCRIL) is pleased to announce its participation in the NO FEAR H2020 security research project, which is led by the Italian Coordinator Università del Piemonte Orientale, and involves eighteen partners across ten Member States and two Associated Countries. The subject matter focuses on Emergency Medical Services and Security. According to Tom Flynn (CEO - TFC Research and Innovation), pictured, “Practitioners across Europe face the probability of new and unforeseen threats, which today are often related to terrorist attacks, new armed conflicts, new infectious diseases or health disasters resulting from climate changes and may cause great harm to society. This can dreadfully impact on medical emergency response and the whole health system. The challenge for the emergency medical system is to counterbalance these new threats, while remaining operational even in situations of the greatest stress, offering the best response, ensuring proper safety and care to the society in danger as a whole.” The NO FEAR project is aimed at the need to establish a common methodology for this challenging area with effective solutions that are affordable in response to these new threats. TFC Research and Innovation Limited is presently working across the project primarily investigating the application and prioritisation of standardisation needs with first responders, medical care and civil protection communities across Europe. The company is working closely with the Dutch Standardisation Body, Nederlands Normalisatie Instituut (NEN), in the project in this area. Against this background, we would like to hear from you if you have been involved in an FP7 or H2020 project that focused on Emergency Management Services and involved work in the area of European standardisation. Please contact us initially at 'security@tfcengage.com' and we will follow up with you. Bernice Clarke and Tom Flynn. Twitter: @TFCRIL
