European IPR Helpdesk Releases New Special on the Romanian Intellectual Property Landscape
The online format includes infographics, a case study from a Romanian SME, and an interview with one of the European IPR Helpdesk ambassadors in Romania, Professor Alexandru Marin. The complete Special can be found online: www.iprhelpdesk.eu/ip-highlights/ip-country-special-romania After the revolution of 1989, Romania began the transition from communism to a market economy with largely mono-industrial areas generating an output no longer suitable for the country’s needs. Adapting to the new market requirements, Romania changed to an IP legislation harmonised with main international treaties and conventions. Since joining the EU in 2007, exports have developed into an engine of growth accounting for roughly 70% of Romania’s trade. The European IPR Helpdesk invites all interested stakeholders, institutions and initiatives to share the new Special via their channels and networks.
