WBC-INCO.NET: New web portal and Call for Contributions to support innovation capacities in the Western Balkan Countries launched

The Western Balkan Countries INCO-NET (WBC-INCO.NET) has launched a brand new website that offers for his 2850 registered users extended interactivity and more user generated content. Moreover, also the Call for Contributions to support innovation capacities in the Western Balkan Countries has been launched.

The Western Balkan Countries INCO-NET is a 7th Framework Programme project that supports the cooperation between the Western Balkan countries (WBC) and EU countries in the area of the Science and Technology. Next to the support of the bi-regional dialogue, identification of the RTDI common priorities, analysis of the innovation needs and opportunities, the project supports the mutual exchange of information between different levels of the researchers, policy makers and RTDI professionals. To succeed in this, the project has launched a new WBC-INCO.NET portal that builds up on the previous project website. The new WBC-INCO.NET portal attracts more than 10 000 unique visitors each month and offers news articles, event and call announcements as well as different databases such as links, documents, projects, organisations and research infrastructures. The new portal offers also some other sections aiming to support the communication between WBC-INCO.NET users and to encourage the development and exchange of innovative ideas such as notice board, glossary and useful tools. For all its registered users, the new WBC-INCO.NET portal further offers: Personalised information – by indicating your scientific and regional focus all related information will be automatically brought to your personal zone. Networking possibilities – you have the access to contact data of other WBC-INCO.NET users looking for cooperation and networking possibilities. You have the possibility to disseminate your own news and event announcements – by yourself. Publish your event announcements on the topic, your organisation profile and your project news, as well as disseminate relevant news and documents on funding opportunities, cooperation possibilities, scholarships, awards, etc. WBC-INCO.NET portal invites all professionals to register at the website! Simultaneously, the project has launched a Call for contributions to the Action Plan to increase innovation capacities in the WBC. WBC-INCO.NET is inviting everybody interested in the topic of innovation capacities and research and innovation experts to share their ideas in an approx. 2 page-long concept note which includes suggestions for concrete projects and actions and brief description of the suggested action. In the concept note, participants are expected to specify who could be the institutions implementing the actions, refer to already running similar actions and the respective lessons learnt; describe the expected impact and the relevance for the region.
