Hospitals and care centres store and exchange large amounts of sensitive patient data, so they are prime targets for cyber criminals. Since 2016 the published number of health records that have been stolen was over 2.5 million, a number which may be much higher. This varies from inside job attacks, poor security and hacking. At the same time, medical devices and wearables that collect health data are becoming more sophisticated and connected with multiple devices and systems, including smartphones, and are making the entire health system more vulnerable. The health system needs to face a multitude of cyber-security threats, including Advanced Persistent Threats, Ransomware, Interceptions, Abuse, Sabotage/Vandalism, Denial-of-Service, Data Theft, and many more. SPHINX aims to introduce a health tailored Universal Cyber Security Toolkit, thus enhancing the cyber protection of the Health and Care IT Ecosystem and ensuring patient data privacy and integrity. The Coordinator is the National Technical University of Athens and the rest of the partners are: FINT Future Intelligence Limited, Konnekt-able, VILABS (CY) Ltd, SIVECO ROMANIA SA, AIDEAS OU, Technological Educational Institute of CRETE, PDM E FC LDA, EDGENEERING LDA, Tech Inspire LTD, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, TECNALIA, Intracom SA Telecom Solutions, Imprensa Nacional – Casa da Moeda, Polaris Medical Clinica de Tratament si Recuperare, Hospital do Espirito Santo Evora and 5 Ygionomiki Periferia Thessalias & Stereas Elladas.
