EnRiMa at the European Sustainable Energy Week 2012: “ICT for Energy Efficiency in Buildings and Communities: from research to implementation"

In the framework of the European Union Sustainable Energy Week,EnRiMa project together with two other EU funded projects, IREEN and ICT4E2B Forum, organized a joint event entitled “ICT for Energy Efficiency in Buildings and Communities: from research to Implementation” on the 20th June 2012 at the Stockholm Region EU Office in Brussels.

EnRiMa, ICT4E2B Forum and IREEN, funded by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) for Research and Technological Development, Information and Communication Technologies, gathered to discuss about ICT solutions in Energy Efficiency in Buildings. After a brief presentation of the different programmes, the participants were asked to discuss around 3 main topics: from the preparation of a roadmap for the use of ICT in buildings, to the adoption of it on a larger scale scenario, in districts and neighborhoods, by analyzing an ICT management solution proposed by EnRiMa: a Decision-Support System (DSS). The EnRiMa’s breakout-session was developed as an interactive moment where, participants were asked to discuss the design and the functionalities of the DSS, the possible obstacles to the implementation of such a system and the economic, environmental and social values of the DSS. Outputs were then collected by the moderator who presented the results during the final discussion. The event brought together stakeholders with different backgrounds and perspectives, from engineers to energy experts or researchers. The outcome of this workshop was more than satisfying, providing many interesting ideas, suggestions and elements. Moreover, the interactivity turned to be a successful methodology to involve all the participants in the different themes. .
